Our Mission

If Camping Sucked Less, There Would Be More Stories To Tell

That is the line that started this company.

We were not chasing a mission statement. We were chasing the part of the trip everyone complains about and nobody fixes.

What We Are Not

We are not a luxury brand. We do not sell a vibe.

We are not for people who post a campsite photo at sunset and never take their tent off the rack the rest of the year.

We are not for people who buy gear because of the influencer it ships next to.

We are not selling you "outdoor adventure." Other companies do that. They are louder than we are about it.

What We Are

We are the people who got tired of pretending the gear always made it easier. We started building because the math did not work. A 150-pound rooftop tent left permanently mounted is a tax on fuel, on handling, on garage clearance, on Mondays. Take it off the old way and you spend half a Saturday wrestling bolts with a friend you bribed with beer.

So we built the Slipstream and the Gatekeeper. One drops your install from 30 minutes plus a buddy down to three minutes solo. The other adds a lock on the same tent, for people who park in the city or at the trailhead overnight.

That is the whole catalog. We do not stretch it to look like a bigger brand. We do not add SKUs because the dealer rep asks. The catalog stays small because the problem stays specific.

The Mission, In One Line

Get the rooftop tent off the rack faster than you ever thought possible, so the rig can do both jobs and the trip can actually happen.

That is it. There is no asterisk.

Real Beats Perfect

Real means our hardware shows up in dirt. It rusts in your imagination, not on your rack. It gets bolted on with one wrench, used for a year, removed in three minutes, and bolted back on next weekend.

Real means we tell you when something is on back order instead of pretending the catalog is complete.

Real means our customer reviews, 4.81 stars across 150+ of them, are the proof we lead with, not a testimonial graphic in a brand deck. Customers in the UAE, Australia, and Canada. Buena Vista, Colorado is where we engineer and ship from.

Real means if you write sales@starksidegear.com on a Saturday, a person who actually uses this gear writes you back.

If that is the company you want building the part that holds your tent to your roof, we are it.

Stay Stark. Never settle.
